Version 2026-08-24. The version in force when you pay for a campaign is the one that governs it, and the version accepted is stored with the campaign record.
Scope
These terms govern your use of pricecannon.com and of PriceCannon Spotlight. By creating a campaign or paying for one you accept them. The service is operated by Jetlic UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Werinherstraße 3, 81541 München, Germany.
What the service is
PriceCannon Spotlight sells advertising. A campaign is a sponsored placement for a product on a public board, disclosed as an advertisement and attributed to the advertiser who paid for it. We do not sell the product, take part in the sale, or act as an agent for either side.
A campaign is not an auction, a competition, a game of chance, or the purchase of traffic. Nothing is won, nothing is transferred between advertisers, and no advertiser loses a placement they have paid for.
Business customers only
Spotlight is sold to businesses for business purposes. You confirm this before you pay, and we collect a trading name, a country and, where relevant, a VAT ID for the invoice. Consumer withdrawal rights do not apply to a business purchase of advertising.
Shoppers browsing the board are of course consumers, and nothing on the board is sold to them by us.
How a campaign is created
Submitting a product URL and previewing the listing is free and needs no account. We request the linked page once to read a title, an image and a category, and keep a copy of how it looked at that moment.
Before a campaign can be created you register a business account and verify the email address on it. A first campaign is reviewed by a person before it is published. We may refuse any campaign, and we refund in full anything we refuse before publication.
You are responsible for the listing in its published form, whether the details came from your edits or from the page we read. Editing a listing changes nothing about its Cannon Power or its position.
What you may advertise
Ordinary physical consumer goods, sold through a store or marketplace account that you own, control, or are authorised to promote. The link must lead directly to the product you describe.
Services, digital goods, downloads and subscriptions are outside the service for now, whatever their subject.
What you may not advertise
The Acceptable Use Policy forms part of these terms and lists the restricted categories in full. In short, we do not accept:
- adult and sexually explicit products or services
- tobacco, e-cigarettes, vapes and nicotine products
- drugs, cannabis and CBD, and drug paraphernalia
- weapons, ammunition, explosives and fireworks
- alcohol, gambling, betting and mystery boxes
- prescription medicines, unapproved supplements and unlicensed medical devices
- counterfeit, stolen or otherwise unlawfully offered goods
- live animals, endangered species products, human remains and hazardous materials
- financial products, crypto, multi-level marketing and get-rich-quick offers
- ticket resale, political advertising and high-risk services
- malware, hacking tools, phishing pages and deceptive redirects
- listings whose title, pitch or image misrepresents the product
- content that infringes someone else’s trade mark, copyright or design right
- material promoting hatred, violence or the exploitation of children
Cannon Power
A Spotlight boost grants a fixed amount of Cannon Power to one campaign. Cannon Power is a ranking score, not money and not stored value.
- It belongs to the campaign it was granted to and cannot be moved to another.
- It cannot be withdrawn, transferred, sold, or converted back into money.
- It cannot be spent on anything, and it buys no goods or services.
- It is not an account balance or a wallet, and nothing is carried between campaigns.
- It ends when the campaign ends.
How much power a boost grants is set by that boost rather than by an exchange rate, and we may change what future boosts grant. How Cannon Power is calculated may also change, and may come to include factors other than boosts.
Ranking parameters
Spotlight products are sponsored placements. Cannon Power determines placement within the Spotlight, and higher Cannon Power generally places a campaign higher in its category. It does not represent product quality, popularity, recommendation, or price competitiveness.
- A campaign’s position follows its Cannon Power within its category, and nothing else.
- Power granted by a boost adds to what the campaign already holds.
- Where two campaigns hold the same power, the one that reached that amount first stays ahead. A reload restarts the window without changing the power held, so it does not affect this.
- A campaign runs for 30 days from the moment it goes live, after which the product leaves the board until it is reloaded.
We may change these parameters for future campaigns, but never retroactively for a campaign that is already running.
What a campaign does not include
We do not guarantee impressions, clicks, visits, enquiries or sales, and none of them is what you are paying for. You are paying for the placement itself, for the duration of the campaign.
A placement is not an endorsement. We do not verify claims made about the product, we do not rank on quality or price, and a sponsored position never means a product is better or cheaper than any other.
Payments, invoices and VAT
Spotlight boosts are sold at fixed prices, shown before you pay and charged in full at that moment. There is no bidding, no variable amount and nothing to outspend. Payments are handled by Stripe with strong customer authentication where it applies, and Stripe’s terms govern the payment itself. We never see or store your card details.
Prices are shown excluding VAT. German VAT is added for customers in Germany. For business customers elsewhere in the EU who supply a valid VAT ID, the reverse charge applies and no VAT is charged. Outside the EU, no German VAT is charged. An invoice is issued for every payment and kept with the campaign record.
Refunds
A campaign is delivered from the moment the placement goes live, so it is not refundable after that point. If we reject a campaign before it is published, we refund the payment in full. If we remove a live campaign for breaking these terms, we do not refund it.
What we record about a campaign
Every campaign keeps a record of what was bought and what ran. We keep it because an advertising service has to be able to show that it delivered, and the advertiser can see the record for their own campaigns at any time.
- the account, business name, verified email, country and VAT ID where given
- login timestamps, the IP each session came from, and the version of these terms accepted
- the submitted product URL and store URL, and a preview of the product at submission
- the Stripe payment ID, the authentication result, and the invoices and receipts issued
- campaign start and end, every boost bought, the power it granted, and the positions the placement held
- impressions served, outbound clicks, and the emails we sent about the campaign
Where a charge is disputed, this record is what we give the card issuer. Retention periods are set out in the Privacy Policy.
Moderation and removal
We review campaigns before and after they go live and may remove any campaign that breaks these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, that we cannot verify, or that a rights holder objects to with good reason. Removal for cause does not create a refund claim, and we may refuse future campaigns from the same merchant or domain.
We tell the advertiser what was removed and why. If you think a decision was wrong, reply to that notice and a person will look at it again.
Reporting a campaign
Anyone can report a campaign they believe is unlawful, infringing or misleading. Write to [email protected] with the link and what is wrong with it. Reports naming a specific campaign and a specific problem are the ones we can act on.
We confirm receipt, review reports in the order they arrive, and tell the reporter what we decided. Campaigns we find unlawful are removed and the advertiser is told why.
Your content
You keep the rights to everything you submit. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to display it on the board, in previews and in promotional material for the board, for as long as the campaign is live.
Who else is involved
We use Stripe for payments, a hosting provider inside the European Union, and an email provider for verification and receipts. What each of them processes, and on what basis, is set out in the Privacy Policy. We do not sell your data and we do not pass it to advertisers other than yourself.
Availability
We aim to keep the service available at all times but do not guarantee it. Maintenance, technical faults and events outside our control can interrupt it. Where an interruption materially shortens a live campaign, we extend that campaign by the lost time.
Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, and for damage to life, body or health. For slight negligence we are liable only where an essential contractual obligation is breached, and then only for foreseeable damage typical of this kind of contract. Liability under the German Product Liability Act is unaffected.
We are not responsible for the products behind the links on the board, for the accuracy of merchant claims, or for anything that happens after a shopper leaves our site.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. Each version carries a date, and the version in force when you pay for a campaign applies to that campaign for its whole run.
Governing law and disputes
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Where you are a merchant, the place of jurisdiction is Munich, Germany.
We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
